Chair, Sally Veitch

Sally Veitch (chair)

Sally is an established Non-Executive Director, being part of a number of boards including Non-Executive Director and Chair of Risk at H&T, Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee of Perenna Bank PLC , and Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit for Tipton & Coseley Building Society. A former Finance Director with strong customer-focused experience, including 15 years at Home Retail Group, Sally has over 20 years of experience in advising both small and large retail and financial services companies in fast-paced and regulated environments.

Vice-chair, Andrew Foster

Andrew joined our board in September 2021. He has worked as a self-employed Governance Consultant since 2019. He has 20 years of Board level experience as a Company Secretary/Solicitor, with experience of working in both the private and third sectors, and has 15 years of experience of working in the Housing sector. He has worked as both an executive and non-executive director. A qualified lawyer by training, Andrew has had direct responsibility and leadership for a broad range of functions including Corporate Strategy, Business Planning; Legal; Governance and Company Secretarial; Risk and Audit; Procurement; Health and Safety; Insurance and Facilities Management.

Hasani was appointed as a Board member on 26th January 2021, bringing digital and technology leadership expertise, with 20 years of experience in the technology sector.

Board member, Jane Porter

 Jane Porter

Jane joined our board in September 2021. She is the Chief Operating Officer at Southern Housing (formerly Optivo), has worked in housing for over 30 years, and has held senior executive roles in housing management, asset management, development, and homeownership.

Jane is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. She has delivered sector-leading performance through the use of real-time data, segmentation, and customer insight. She has driven continuous improvement and efficiencies through her vision and enthusiasm for technology solutions including predictive analytics, RPA, AI, IoT, and bots.

Danny Sutcliffe 101

Danny Sutcliffe

Danny started his career in housing at the Housing Corporation as the 1988 Housing Act transformed the way affordable housing was delivered in England. He worked for several Housing Associations and affordable housing contractors before setting up Red Loft, growing the business to a 50 strong team today.

He has continued to work for a range of contractors, developers, housing associations and local authorities managing regeneration projects and securing and delivering large and small developments.

As well as project management, his work has involved managing teams and effecting change management. Danny now oversees a group of commissions and a team of consultants working on a range of projects from site finding, S106 Financial Viability Assessment, closing deals, securing planning through to on-site delivery as well as policy and procedure work including OJEU Frameworks, training on bid writing and a multitude of legacy projects.

He has provided support at a senior executive level to several local authorities setting up Housing or Development Companies. He has also set up the sales and marketing division which now has a current pipeline of over 1,300 homes. 

Duncan Brown 2

Duncan Brown

Duncan is Chief Finance Officer at the housing association VIVID, responsible for maintaining the organisation’s financial strength and sound governance, ensuring that their development plans are fully funded and technology helps to deliver VIVID’s services and ambitions. Duncan is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in the housing sector. He previously spent six years with KPMG where he provided financial planning and risk management services to some high-profile clients before moving into the housing sector.

Ruth Brougham

Ruth Brougham

Ruth joined our Board in July 2024. She has worked in a number of consumer businesses, primarily in Financial Services and Energy, with a particular focus on digital transformation in the last 10 years. She has a passion for embedding the customer at the heart of any business, and is currently the Streaming Business Director at Channel 4.

Independent Committee Members

Steve Stanbury

Steve Stanbury (Independent Committee Member of Audit and Risk Committee)

Steve is the Director of Internal Audit at City St George’s, University of London, and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and MLRO (Adv.Cert AML).  Steve started his career at Deloitte, where he qualified and has been responsible for delivering internal audit functions, across the higher education sector, housing sector, and central government. His experience also extends to serving as a board member and audit committee chair at Cross Keys Homes; as well as having previously been an independent audit committee member at Goldsmiths, University of London and the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.

Mahbub Khandoke

Mahbub Khandoker (Independent Committee Member of Development & Asset Committee)

Currently appointed as the Development Director Vistry London Division, Mahbub brings an extensive track record in delivering mixed used and regeneration projects. Mahbub is an experienced and focussed professional with a mechanical engineering degree, and a post graduate diploma in surveying, with 17 years residential development experience.

Mahbub brings extensive knowledge of the land acquisition process, design, planning, and financial appraisals relating to housing and mixed-use developments.

Vicky

Vicki O’Brien (Independent Committee Member of Operations Committee)

Vicki joined our Operations Committee in July 2024. She has enjoyed an extensive career at senior level in aviation and now works as Director of Operations for SkyShowtime. She brings customer service, digital and operations expertise to the group and is a huge advocate of delivering outstanding customer service through a committed and engaged workforce.

Alex Sinclair

Alex Sinclair ( Independent Member of Operations Committee)

Alex is currently part of the Senior Management team at SIG (Social Interest Group), a not-for-profit organisation. Alex is dedicated to supporting people within society to aid recovery, reablement and resettlement. She is compassionate and driven and prides herself on delivering a high quality service.

Alex has over a decade of experience and knowledge in the housing sector.  She brings expertise within operations; managing several supported temporary accommodation-based services across Bedfordshire. Alex is passionate about housing; she believes everybody deserves a safe and secure home. Alex prides herself on working in a trauma informed way and has a history of embedding a psychologically informed approach within all of the services she has worked on. Alex is clear that residents are at the centre of what she does, which has enabled her to build on trust, communication, and delivery of core services.

Christopher Grimes

Christopher Grimes ( Independent Member of Operations Committee)

Christopher brings over a decade of expertise in marketing, digital strategy, and communications, spanning sectors such as trading, travel, and fashion. His experience includes developing and delivering customer-centric solutions, fostering diverse talent, and driving strategic transformation. His passion for social impact and inclusivity aligns with Settle’s mission, and he is committed to amplifying resident voices while supporting Settle’s Vision to 2030.
