Rod Cahill to join settle as interim Chief Executive
We are pleased to announce that experienced housing leader Rod Cahill will become our interim Chief Executive at settle from October. This follows the departure of our current Chief Executive Gavin Cansfield who will be leaving settle to take up the role of Chief Executive at Moat Homes.
Rod brings a wealth of experience to this position. He has worked in the housing sector for many years, including as Chief Executive at Catalyst Housing for 26 years. He has previously worked as an interim Chief Executive at Sage Housing, where he was able to help it become one of the main for-profit providers of affordable housing in England. He currently holds a role at Shepherd’s Bush Housing Association as a strategic adviser.
Rod Cahill said: “I’m pleased to be joining settle at such an exciting time. I know that the team are focused on embedding the 2030 plan. I’m looking forward to finding out how I can support them in delivering the plan’s purpose and priorities to ensure the best outcomes for residents.”
Gavin Cansfield has led settle for nine years and will be leaving his role at the end of September.
Gavin said: “I am immensely proud of the work we have delivered at settle during the past nine years. We have played our part in meeting housing need, delivering services to residents with a real focus on providing support to residents experiencing vulnerability. As I take up my new role at Moat, I am really pleased to be passing leadership at settle to Rod. I am leaving the organisation in a great place, and wish all colleagues, residents and partners the very best for the future.”
Sally Veitch, Chair of the Board at settle said: “On behalf of the Board, we thank Gavin for all that he has done for settle in driving forward the organisation’s work and we all wish him well for the future. He leaves settle in a stronger position, and passes leadership of the organisation to Rod with a sound strategic plan in place, focussed on putting residents first and meeting their needs. With Rod’s excellent track record of delivery across the housing sector, we know he’ll be a great appointment for settle and look forward to welcoming him to the organisation.”
