Jackmans Calling! It’s time to find your voice.

BDK Feb2024

We’re committed to investing in our neighbourhoods, creating places where residents are proud to live and communities that are welcoming to all.

Our Neighbourhood Plans are driven by local residents and partners to help us focus on the areas that matter most to you.

Through the Big Door Knock and many other ways we listen to residents, we’ve heard five key areas of importance to the Jackmans community:

  • A call for more community initiatives
  • Anti-social behaviour concerns
  • More litter picking and improved grounds maintenance
  • Improved bin areas
  • Residents’ meeting opportunities

We’re hosting a number of activities from 16 October to 8 November both online and in your community, to give you the opportunity to tell us what you think and find out what we’re doing around these five key areas.

There’ll be plenty of ways to discuss what matters most to you and your local neighbourhood.

Online

The one-stop shop for finding out about the Jackmans Neighbourhood Plan and ways you can have a voice in what we do, is to go to the Jackmans Neighbourhood Plan page on our settle connect platfom.

With an interactive map and ideas board, you’ll find new ways to share your frustrations and suggestions.

In-person

If you prefer to see in person what we’re doing, just come along to any of the activities we’re hosting between 16 October and 8 November.

22-24 and 29-31 October: Lins and Sue from our engagement team will be based in the community centre each day. No doubt there’ll be tea and biscuits while you chat.

17 October:  Herts Fire and Rescue will visit Hadleigh for fire safety tips 17 October and again on 6 November with Police for an Older Peoples Advice session (10-12)

17 and 18 October: Office based colleagues will join our Estates team sweeping leaves, clearing pathways, and tidying up shrubbery

7 November: Young school pupils will be litter picking in the morning and we’ve organised a SKIP!

8 November: Our finale activity will be a true community event with lots of partner organisations gathering in and around the community centre to share, update, advise and listen to local residents.

More information is available in the calendar of events.

We look forward to seeing you!
