We are pleased to welcome two new members to our Board at settle. Duncan Brown and Ruth Brougham bring a wealth of experience to support our governance and leadership as we continue to drive forward delivery of our 2030 plan.

Duncan Brown, who also takes on the role of Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of our Board, succeeds Elizabeth Froude, who steps down after six years in this role.

Duncan brings considerable experience as the Chief Finance Officer of VIVID, a prominent housing association in the South East, with a portfolio exceeding 30,000 homes. With over 15 years in the housing sector, his expertise will be instrumental in further strengthening our financial and operational framework at settle.

Ruth, who joined our Board at settle in July 2024, is an expert in consumer-focused industries, having held leadership roles in the financial services and energy sectors. Currently the Streaming Business Director at Channel 4, Ruth has been at the forefront of digital transformation over the last decade. Her passion for embedding the customer at the heart of decision-making aligns with our core mission of delivering quality housing and services to our residents at settle.

The appointments of Duncan and Ruth follow the departures of Shamez Alibhai and Elizabeth Froude, both of whom made significant contributions during their tenures.

Elizabeth, currently the Chief Executive of Platform Housing Group, chaired our Audit and Risk Committee at settle for the past six years, ensuring rigorous oversight and governance.

Shamez Alibhai, Head of Community Housing and Portfolio Manager at Man Global Private Markets, has been with the Board at settle since 2021 and is a valued member of Man Group’s Responsible Investment Committee.

Sally Veitch, Chair of settle’s Board, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Elizabeth and Shamez for all they have done to support our work at settle. Their commitment has helped us remain focused on providing high-quality homes and addressing housing needs in our communities.

“We are delighted to welcome Duncan and Ruth to the Board. They join us at an important time for our organisation, and I know that with all members of the Board, we look forward to working together as we continue our focus on delivering our 2030 plan and achieving the best outcomes we can for all settle residents.”

The Board at settle plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring it remains financially resilient while delivering on its commitment to providing great homes and services for its residents.
