Settle’s Pledge to LGBTQ+ residents
We are proud to have signed the HouseProud LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge, reaffirming our commitment to ensuring LGBTQ+ residents are heard at the highest levels of Settle.
The LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge, developed by HouseProud and delivered by Stonewall Housing, is a scheme that all social housing providers can sign up to and asks members for a commitment to LGBTQ+ resident equality and support.
The pledge was introduced in response to a study across housing associations that revealed LGBTQ+ individuals often feel overlooked, experience indirect discrimination, and are treated differently from other residents. The initiative offers clear guidance and actions that social housing providers can adopt to create more inclusive, supportive environments.
Pioneer Pledge
We’re working towards the Pioneer Pledge, which outlines key objectives such as strengthening our relationships with LGBTQ+ residents, enhancing LGBTQ+ visibility across our services, and increasing colleague training to foster a more inclusive community.
