Strengthening resident voice – new members join Settle’s Operations Committee
We’re delighted to welcome three new Independent Committee Members to the Operations Committee of our Board at Settle, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening resident influence over our work and being a responsible social business.
The new members are Vicki O’Brien, who joined the Committee in July, and Settle residents Alex Sinclair and Christopher Grimes who joined in October.
Vicki has enjoyed an extensive career at senior level in aviation and now works as Director of Operations for Sky Showtime. She brings customer service, digital and operations expertise to the Committee and is a huge advocate of delivering outstanding customer service through a committed and engaged workforce.
The opportunity for residents to join the Operations Committee fulfils a key target in our 2030 plan. With support from Tpas, the largest tenant engagement organisation in the country, we advertised the role to all Settle residents earlier this year. We received an extremely strong range of applications and were so impressed during the interview process that we were able to agree with our Board to appoint two residents to the Committee.
Alex has over a decade of experience and knowledge in the housing sector, and is currently part of the Senior Management team at a not-for-profit organisation. She brings expertise in operations, managing several supported temporary accommodation-based services, with a focus on keeping residents at the heart of her work.
Christopher brings over a decade of expertise in marketing, digital strategy, and communications, spanning a range of sectors. His experience includes developing and delivering customer-centric solutions, fostering diverse talent, and driving strategic transformation. He is committed to amplifying resident voices while supporting Settle’s vision to 2030.
Tpas will continue to support Alex and Chris through ongoing mentoring and coaching.
Dean Anderson, Executive Director of Customer Services at Settle said: “Central to our 2030 plan is our commitment to remain relentlessly resident focused throughout all that we do. The Operations Committee has a vital role in this, supporting our Board to ensure residents are influencing how we make decisions, and that we are delivering the best possible services and outcomes for them. I am really pleased to see Alex, Christopher and Vicki join the Operations Committee and have no doubt that they will all bring valuable perspectives as we continue putting residents at the heart of everything we do.”
