Keeping warm this January
We have been experiencing some cold and inclement weather and wanted to share some tips to help you keep safe and warm.
Keeping warm
If you can have the heating come on for a short period each day it will lower the chance of pipes freezing during the cold spell. If you don’t usually feel the cold, turning the thermostat down to about 10 degrees will keep the system ticking over without using too much energy.
Otherwise, turn the heating to a setting that’s comfortable for you.
Know how to switch off your water
If you do have a burst pipe, knowing how to turn off your water supply is important. A stopcock switches off the water supply to your home. It’s usually situated under the sink or may be in your airing cupboard.
Cold radiators may need bleeding
If radiators are not warming up, they most likely need to be bled. If you’re not sure how to do this, or you notice a leak give us a call on 0330 343 0016.
