Money advice and other additional support from Settle

At Settle, part of our social purpose is to provide extra help and support to residents who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

We have trained teams in place to help with any issues related to running your home. It includes help with mental health, domestic abuse and loneliness as well cost of living challenges. We work with partners like Pocket Power who can help reduce household bills; Survivors Against Domestic Abuse (SADA) as well as other local and national organisations.

Money advice team

We have recently launched a new, in-house money advice team offering a free, confidential money advice service to all our residents.

Whether residents need practical support, help with budgeting, or guidance on managing their bills, our Money Advice Partners will help. Our support is honest, non-judgemental, and always delivered with respect.

We are already helping residents to secure successful outcomes. For example, last month, supporting a resident to reinstate correct universal credit payments, securing a backdated payment which the resident used to clear their rent arrears.

Rachel Shaw, Money Advice Team Coach at Settle said: “I’ve worked at Settle for 16 years and I’m really excited about our new Money Advice Service. It’s something I’ve been working towards and preparing with colleagues at Settle for a quite a while. It’s really great to have new team members Jess and Marie on board so that we are able to deliver this service in-house and support residents the best we can.”
