Proposals for Settle and Paradigm to form a new housing association

We have today announced that we are in discussions with another housing association, Paradigm Housing Group, to create a new organisation, which we believe will allow us to deliver better services to residents.

Paradigm have also announced today that they intend to buy almost 3,500 homes from L&Q Housing Association.

Our Boards signed off the initial business case this week to formally explore the partnership. If proposals go ahead, the new organisation initially known as SettleParadigm, would be the largest housing association working in the region.

We believe that by working together we would be able to deliver better services and achieve more for all our residents and communities.

Rod Cahill, Interim Chief Executive at Settle and Matthew Bailes, Chief Executive at Paradigm said:

“We are delighted to announce these proposals today. Settle and Paradigm share the same geography, we both focus on core social housing, and both organisations want to deliver excellent services, high quality homes and more new affordable homes to help tackle the housing crisis.  We believe that by joining together, we can work more efficiently and cost-effectively, achieving more for our residents and the communities where we work. With the proposed addition of the homes from L&Q, we will be able to deliver the advantages of scale while remaining locally focused.”

We will be writing to residents at the end of April to launch a six-week consultation and all views will be taken into account when the Boards discuss whether to go ahead, later this year.

In the meantime, nothing will change for residents. The services you receive and the way they are delivered will stay the same.
