Fire safety reminder for blocks of flats

We’re writing to residents in blocks of flats to remind them of fire safety and evacuation procedures.
Each building is different, and we display the relevant instructions for your building in the entrance hallway.
Please take the time to review the procedures for your building and ensure that all household members are familiar with them.
Fire safety management is a responsibility shared by Settle and residents. As a responsible landlord, we carry out fire risk assessments to all blocks of flats and schemes with communal spaces and take any action needed.
As a responsible resident you are required to:
- keep fire exit routes clear
- keep fire doors closed
- report any concerns, repairs or worries immediately on 0330 343 0016.
Your flat will be fitted with a smoke alarm. Please regularly check it by pressing the button until the alarm sounds.
If you have mobility issues or require assistance, let us know so that we can assist in planning an appropriate evacuation strategy.
You can find out more on our Fire safety management web page.
Let us know if you require additional services
We can provide additional services and alternate approaches for residents who may require them.
This includes Braille, British Sign Language and language translation.
Our Disability and mobility web page explains the process for adapting your home if you have a disability or limited mobility.
Even if we don’t yet offer an appropriate service, please let us know your situation so we can review the options available to support you better.
