What is Direct Debit?
Direct Debit is a way of paying your rent or other charges monthly or weekly directly from your bank account. For more information you can visit the Direct Debit website.
How to apply for Direct Debit
Please call us on 0330 343 0016 and have your bank details to hand. We’ll take it from there.
If the bank account is not in your name, we’ll also need to speak to that person to set up the Direct Debit.
What are the advantages?
Peace of mind
With Direct Debit you know your rent and charges are being paid regularly and directly so you won’t miss any payment dates.
If you’re on housing benefits and there are any changes, please contact us to let us know and we’ll recalculate your payments, providing you 10 working days notice in writing. There’s no need for you to go to the bank.
Flexibility
You can set up a direct debit to happen weekly or monthly and on any day you choose.
Convenient and safe
With Direct Debit you no longer need to go to the Post Office, the shop or telephone us. There are no cheques to write, stamps to buy and no need to carry cash.
The Direct Debit Guarantee
This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept Direct Debits.
If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit, we will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
If you request us to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
If we make an error in the payment of your Direct Debit you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society.
You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
