Penny Metcalf is promoted to executive director of development

Penny Metcalf has been promoted to executive director of development, as she pushes ahead with the delivery of our plan to build at least 1,500 homes across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire by 2024, 90% of which will be affordable.

Penny joined settle as development director in 2018, and has since spearheaded our first regeneration scheme, incorporating new homes, shops and play area, at John Barker Place in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Other recent appointments to our team include Sally Veitch as chair of our board and Rachel McFarlane as director of housing.

Together with Penny’s promotion, these new appointments put settle in a strong position to deliver our 2024 vision – an ambitious plan, which requires a bold approach to the development of new, high quality affordable homes, and the provision of pioneering customer services.

Gavin Cansfield, chief executive of settle, said “Penny’s promotion to executive director reflects her huge achievements during the two years she’s been with settle. Penny joins me, Anita Khan, executive director of customer services; Richard Blakey, executive director of finance and resources on the Executive team and our incoming chair of the Board Sally Veitch. I’m delighted that settle now has the team in place to fulfill our commitments to our communities: delivering the homes and creating the neighbourhoods that will enable them to thrive.”
